Fasting

Uno and Abby go on a weekly semi-fast. Every Sunday, they get a yoghurt-carrot/papaya-raw honey-supplements brekkie and their next meal will be around 6-7pm in the evening. The purpose is to let their digestive systems rest and allow their bodies to redirect resources to other bodily functions e.g. detoxify, repairs etc.

Uno has been on this semi-fast for more than a year, while Abby resumed her fast 2 weekends ago after taking a 6-month break since her op in Feb. Other than feeling sluggish on the fasting day, I find their overall energy level, alertness etc to be better than their pre-fast days. Since restarting her fast, Abby has developed a spot of breakouts on her legs - a sign of detox in process. The spots have since healed. Looks like I can keep her milk thistle for now :)

Abby's First Outing since February

Since The Accident in February, Abby has been staying at home. Brought her and Uno out to Marina Barrage for some fun:

My Little Terror

I could never imagine my Abby having a destructive streak in her!

Left her alone in the yard last Sunday with a toy - the kind with a bell inside that makes noise when rolled about - thinking it will keep her occupied while I run an errand. Imagine my horror when I saw the state of the toy after I returned: it was completely chewed to pieces, and the bell was missing!

Immediately mobilised the entire family to comb the yard, only to find smaller bits of the toy but no sign of the bell bearings. My greatest fear was that something would be caught in her throat or the bearings will rust inside her tummy. So for the next few days, she was fed with extra pumpkin and bananas, her poo was inspected very carefully... found nothing - no hard bits, foreign objects etc.

Abby is still her usual happy-playful-carefree self, while Mommie was worried sick. As I am writing this, she is busy harassing Uno

Abby: 8 weeks after The Accident

It has been 8 weeks since The Accident. Thankfully, Abby is recovering fairly well. Her weight is now at an all time high of 5.9kg :)
Her system seems to have regulated - she's finally on heat after 1 month delay.

Abby: 6 weeks after The Accident

It has been 2 weeks since Abby returned to her raw diet. Managed to maintain her weight at 5.7kg and general well being thus far ;) She is back to her old self pretty much, including terrorizing Uno ;(

Abby's heat is due in March, but nothing happened so far. Wondering if her body system is still in chaos after the incident...

The taste of raw meat

Finally Abby got to taste yummy raw chicken after 4 LONG WEEKS!
Starting her slowly so as not to cause any tummy upsets. So far so good :)
